| Ninja village as an organization Because on other sites Kage's generally have nothing to do, here we can assign them to running the village (with the help of the village council). If they do a good job, the normal members will enjoy lots of benefits. The system is very similar to those of other strategy games such as "Civilization" for example. The BudgetThe ninja villages are military organizations that need funds in order to function. "The Budget" represents all the money that village has at its disposal. From here the kage and ninja council divert funds to pay ninjas their weekly salary, research new jutsus/items/equipment, improve the village itself by building better academies/hospitals/training grounds/defenses/ect...(see Development for more info). NOTE: While giving ninjas their regular salaries IS mandatory, the council reserves the right to not pay inactive members or award extra money to exceptional ninja. The Budget isn't a bottomless pit, spending money uncontrollably will leave you broke in no time. But there are 2 ways of filling it back up: -Once a week the village receives 200,000 ryo from the Daimyo of your own country. Subjugating other minor countries under your "protection", increases the weekly income to a certain degree (depends on the country itself). NOTE: If there is a missing nin in your country or in a subjugated minor country, the money he robs from people for his weekly "salary" is deduced from the money your village receives on a weekly bases. -When a ninja successfully completes a mission (especially high ranked ones) a HUGE part of the reward money goes into the budget. - Spoiler:
Mission | The Ninja receives | The Village Budget receives | D Rank | 3,000 ryo | 0 ryo | C Rank | 15,000 ryo | 30,000 ryo | B Rank | 50,000 ryo | 100,000 ryo | A Rank | 150,000 ryo | 450,000 ryo | S Rank | 600,000 ryo | 2,000,000 ryo |
The Ninja CouncilThe ninja council is a group of trusted members who are given limited mod powers. They help the Kage with administrative stuff like organizing exams, grading training topics, handling transactions in the shinobi shop, editing ninja accounts, keeping an eye on the budget... They also elect or replace the Kage (if he sucks at his job). NOTE: To become a council member one must first make a request topic and then await admin approval. ReputationReputation: "The estimation in which one is held in public opinion". Reputation has direct impact on a village's political influence, which in turn has effect on the probability of being attacked by NPC ninja when traveling in other countries and the ease with which a ninja village can use diplomatic means *cough*intimidation*cough* to subjugate other countries and ensure their continued loyalty. When you kill/capture a criminal or an enemy ninja from one of the other great villages you gain the following rep points: - Spoiler:
- Genin -> 2
- Chuunin -> 4
- Special Jounin -> 8
- Jounin -> 14
- ANBU -> equivalent rank +2
- Sennin -> 20
- Kage -> 30
Criminals:
- D Rank: 2
- C Rank: 6
- B Rank: 10
- A Rank: 15
- S Rank: 22
*If a village loses a ninja of one of these ranks, it will lose the equal amount of points. *Killing/capturing NPCs will get you only half the rep and the village they came from doesn't lose any rep points. *Defeating but not killing/capturing an enemy PC or NPC ninja (meaning he escaped) doesn't earn or cost anyone any rep points. Types of MissionsWe already scratched this topic in the other "Suggestions" topic, but now we go into more detail. There are 3 types of missions: Requested missions, Counter missions and Staff missions. 1) " Requested" missions are those that the kage or someone else from a ninja village creates their own missions and then asks the admin staff to approve them. As stated before, the staff does this to make sure someone doesn't create unrealistic missions, like with easy objectives but lots of reward. Also, a village with very low reputation might not be able to "request" certain types of missions. 2) Before I explain " Counter" missions I want you to think about this: Usually only powerful individuals or groups can afford to hire ninjas for 'serious' tasks, and such individuals or groups usually have opponents of similar influence. So if someone hires a ninja for a serious job, then it would be logical to assume that the opposing party would do the same, since only a ninja can stop a ninja. So, when someone " Requests" a B, A or S rank mission the staff (representing the interests of the "opposing party" of the client that made that hired those ninja) creates a mission with the same rank but with the exact opposed objectives than the "Requested" mission. A mission to "Counter" the "Requested" mission. The admins then make a random dice roll to see who they should give the counter mission to (whether another ninja village or a missing nin). 3) Every other week the staff gives the village with the highest reputation an A or S rank mission, a B or A rank mission to the runner up and a C or B rank to the 3rd highest. These are called "Staff" missions and are meant to advance the plot on the forum in case the members grow too complacent. Since these "staff" and "counter" missions are imposed by the admins rather than requested by the members themselves, the village loses a lot less reputation if they fail them, also they have the right to refuse them if they want to (they still lose some rep points though). If a "counter" mission is refused the staff posts the mission in the public sector where anyone can accept it (first come, first serve). The chart below shows how much Reputation points a village gains/loses when they completed, fail or refuse a mission. - Spoiler:
| Any kind of Successful Mission | Failed Requested Mission | Failed Staff/Counter Mission | Refusing Staff/Counter Mission | D rank | +0 | -1 | 0 | 0 | C rank | +1 | -2 | 0 | -1 | B rank | +2 | -4 | -1 | -2 | A rank | +4 | -8 | -2 | -4 | S rank | +8 | -16 | -4 | -8 |
VILLAGE DEVELOPMENTIf there is surplus of cash in the budget then the Kage and/or the council can use that money to improve the village. Village improvements include: building gates and walls to hinder invasions, building special training grounds to increase EXP during training, researching new jutsus, supplying your village's shinobi shop with new and better weapons/equipment, training NPC ninja ect... Here are some of the things that can be improved, thus helping yourself and those under you: - [Only admins are allowed to see this link]

| Research and Manufacturing Branch This branch of the ninja village is responsible for supplying its ninjas with the arsenal they need to overcome their opponents. Its divided in 2 departments, the "Elemental Chakra Research" and the "Crafting Technology" department. Each time you upgrade the "Research and Manufacturing" branch you get to improve 1 of the above mentioned departments by 1 level. - Spoiler:
Funding the Research and Manufacturing Branch: Level 1: 100,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 2: 200,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 3: 300,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 4: 400,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 5: 500,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 6: 600,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 7: 700,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 8: 800,000 ryo; 1 level up, up to 3 villages can have this upgrade Level 9: 900,000 ryo; 1 level up, up to 2 villages can have this upgrade Level 10: 1,000,000 ryo; 1 level up, only 1 village can have this upgrade.
Elemental Chakra Research branch The function of this department is to research new elemental jutsus and put scrolls in the shinobi shop so that everyone can learn them. It also makes it cheaper for people inventing custom jutsus. In the beginning the level of research in each element (Fire, Wind, Water, Earth and Lightning) is 0, meaning there isn't even a D rank ninjutsu of any element available in the shinobi shop. Each time you upgrade this department you gain a few level ups. Now you can ether focus your research on one element and level it up several times or level up multiple different elements simultaneously. For example, if you have had a Elemental Chakra Research 3 and you had chosen to allocate the level ups on the elements like this: Level 5 Fire element Level 4 Lightning element Level 2 Wind element Level 2 Earth element Level 0 Water element Then that means that in the shinobi shop all Fire ninjutsus will be available, lightning jutsus only up to A rank will be available, up to C rank Wind and Earth ninjutsus, AND NO WATER JUTSUS WHAT-SO-EVER. Which means if someone's primary element is Water he'd be pretty screwed because he'd have nowhere to learn jutsus from (and custom jutsus would be a bitch when it comes to paying for them). Here is a list on the prices and effects of each upgrade in this department: - Spoiler:
- Level 1: +3 research level ups.
- Level 2: +4 research level ups; 10% discount on elemental jutsus in the shinobi shop, 5% for all other jutsu.
- Level 3: +5 research level ups; 20% discount on elemental jutsus in the shinobi shop, 10% for all other jutsu.
- Level 4: +6 research level ups; 1/3rd discount on elemental jutsus in the shinobi shop, 1/6th for all other jutsu.
- Level 5: +7 research level ups; 50% discount on elemental jutsus in the shinobi shop, 25% for all other jutsu.
Crafting Technology branch The function of this department is to invent new ninja equipment and mass produce it. Like jutsus and skills, ninja equipment is also graded based on how advanced it is, based on their "technology" level so to speak. Simple items like shuriken and kunai are tech level 1 items, while more complicated and powerful items such as the Chakra armor are level 5. Each upgrade in this branch increases the village's technology level by 1. - Spoiler:
- Level 1: Tech level 1; each item must first be researched individually at double price; you can reverse engineer enemy tech level 2 items at double their price.
- Level 2: Tech level 2; each item must first be researched individually at half price; items of tech level 1 are 20% cheaper; you can reverse engineer enemy tech level 3 items at double their price.
- Level 3: Tech level 3; all non-custom tech level 2 and 1 items become available, tech 3 items must be researched individually first at half price and are 20% cheaper; items of tech level 2 are 40% cheaper, 60% for tech level 1. All repairs and reverse engineering of tech level 2 items is halved, tech level 1 are free. You can reverse engineer enemy tech level 3 and 4 items at normal price. Decrease the multiplier for inventing tech level 3 and lower items by 1.
- Level 4: Tech level 4; all non-custom tech level 4 or less items become available; items of tech level 4 are 20% cheaper, 60% for tech level 3, 80% for tech level 2, level 1 items are free. All repairs and reverse engineering of tech level 4 items is halved, tech level 1, 2 and 3 are free. Decrease the multiplier for inventing tech level 4 items by 1 and by 2 for all lesser.
- Level 5: Tech level 5; items of tech level 4 are 60% cheaper, 80% for tech level 3, tech level 2 and 1 items are free. All repairs and reverse engineering of tech level 5 is halved, the rest are free. Decrease the multiplier for inventing tech level 5 by 1 and by 2 for all other.

| Infrastructure Branch
_______________________________________________ This branch of the ninja village is responsible for the urban planning of the village itself. A bigger village means more people, more people means more taxes and more ninja recruits. Unfortunately a bigger village also means more places for a spy to sneak in from and easier for him to blend in. NOTE: NPCs are controlled by the kage, village council members or if assigned to a ninja team, the team leader. No need for special posting for NPCs, just treat them as you would clones. - Spoiler:
Increasing the village's size: Level 1: 100,000 ryo; +25,000 ryo to village tax income; -10% security; max of 2 NPC Level 2: 200,000 ryo; +50,000 ryo to village tax income; -20% security; max of 4 NPC Level 3: 300,000 ryo; +75,000 ryo to village tax income; -30% security; max of 6 NPC Level 4: 400,000 ryo; +100,000 ryo to village tax income; -40% security; max of 8 NPC Level 5: 500,000 ryo; +125,000 ryo to village tax income; -50% security; max of 10 NPC Level 6: 600,000 ryo; +150,000 ryo to village tax income; -60% security; max of 12 NPC Level 7: 700,000 ryo; +175,000 ryo to village tax income; -70% security; max of 14 NPC Level 8: 800,000 ryo; +200,000 ryo to village tax income; -80% security; max of 17 NPC, up to 3 villages can have this upgrade Level 9: 900,000 ryo; +250,000 ryo to village tax income; -85% security; max of 20 NPC, up to 2 villages can have this upgrade Level 10: 1,000,000 ryo; +300,000 ryo to village tax income; -90% security; max of 25 NPC, only 1 village can have this upgrade.

| Military Branch
_______________________________________________ The Military branch has only one purpose. Train ninjas. As such it is divided into 2 departments: The Ninja Academy and The Training Grounds. Each time you upgrade the "Military" branch you get to improve 1 of the above mentioned departments by 1 level. Also, the higher the level in military branch the more seriously minor countries will take your military might (the total of all your ninja's levels) into consideration during negotiations. - Spoiler:
Funding the Military Branch: Level 1: 100,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 2: 200,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 3: 300,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 4: 400,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 5: 500,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 6: 600,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 7: 700,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 8: 800,000 ryo; 1 level up, up to 3 villages can have this upgrade Level 9: 900,000 ryo; 1 level up, up to 2 villages can have this upgrade Level 10: 1,000,000 ryo; 1 level up, only 1 village can have this upgrade.
Ninja Academy Obviously, the ninja Academy is there to train the next generation of ninja, but its other purpose is the accumulation of knowledge, or rather its practical application...it is a military institution after all. Just like the Elemental Chakra Research, the Academy also has research areas it focuses is (Genjutsu, High jutsus and Ninpo jutsus). Each time you upgrade the Ninja Academy you gain a few research level ups which you can ether focus in 1 area or level up multiple different areas simultaneously. For example, if you had Ninja Academy level 3 and you chose to allocate the level ups this: Level 5 Genjutsu Level 3 High ninjutsu Level 0 Ninpo ninjutsu This means genjutsus up to S rank and High ninjutsus up to B rank will be available in the shinobi shop, but there will be no Ninpo jutsu because its research level is 0. NOTE: Ninpo stands for any non elemental ninjutsu that can't be classified into any other group. High jutsus stands for non elemental ninjutsus who are too powerful to be called a simple Ninpo jutsu (such as space-time and sealing jutsus). Here is a list of what you gain with each new level in Ninja Academy: - Spoiler:
Level 1: +2 research level ups; 10% discount on skills; Maximum of 3 students may be at the academy at a time; training NPCs costs 12,000 ryo per level per NPC, leveling up happens once every 2 weeks; graduation exam requires three level 5 students to fight in a battle royal until one dies.
Level 2: +3 research level ups; 20% discount on skills; Maximum of 6 students may be at the academy at a time; 1 available teaching post; training NPCs costs 10,000 ryo per level per NPC (final cost is reduced by 5,000 ryo if an NPC and by 10,000 ryo if a PC teacher is posted in the academy), leveling up happens once every 11 days; graduation happens only when a written exam is passed.
Level 3: +3 research level ups; 30% discount on skills; Maximum of 9 students may be at the academy at a time; 2 available teaching posts; training NPCs costs 8,000 yen per level per NPC (final cost of each NPC is reduced by 4,000 yen for every NPC and by 8,000 yen for every PC teacher posted in the academy), leveling up happens once a week; upon graduation ninjas receive 15,000 ryo.
Level 4: +3 research level ups; 40% discount on skills; Maximum of 12 students may be at the academy at a time; 3 available teaching posts; training NPCs costs 6,000 yen per level per NPC (individual cost per NPC per level is reduced by 750 ryo for every NPC and by 1,500 ryo for every PC teacher posted in the academy), leveling up happens twice every week; upon graduation ninjas receive 30,000 ryo and the "Elemental Proficiency [1]" as a free skill.
Level 5: +4 research level ups; 50% discount on skills; Maximum of 19 people per week may be at the academy; 4 available teaching posts; all entered NPCs reach level 5 in one week for free; academy students instantly reach level 5; upon graduation ninjas receive 50,000 ryo, the "Elemental Proficiency [1]" as a free skill and the "Quality Education" special skill. The Academy may be treated as a training ground where one receives +1 EXP per NPC and +2 EXP per PC teacher posted there (additional "Sensei" or other training skills also apply).
Training grounds The training grounds is where the real power is gained. This is where those who left the academy far behind them come to become stronger. It's also THE place for training your NPC ninjas. A big army needs a big place to maintain its strength. Here is a list of what you gain with each new level in Training grounds: - Spoiler:
Level 1: D rank taijutsus are available; +4 EXP from training topics; there is 1 training ground where only 1 topic per week can be opened, people cap per topic is 1; total level cap for all NPCs is 25, civilian NPCs only.
Level 2: C rank taijutsus are available; +5 EXP from training topics; there are 2 training grounds where no more than 2 topics per week can be opened in each of them, people cap per topic is 2; NPCs can be trained up to level 10 (10,000 ryo per level per NPC, level up once every 11 days); total level cap for all NPCs is 50. Only generic type ninja NPCs are available.
Level 3: B rank taijutsus are available; +6 EXP from training topics; there are 3 training grounds where no more than 3 topics per week can be opened in each of them, people cap per topic is 3; NPCs can be trained up to level 15 (8,000 ryo per level per NPC, level up once a week); total level cap for all NPCs is 100. 3 basic ninja type NPCs are available.
Level 4: A rank taijutsus are available; +8 EXP from training topics; there are 4 training grounds where no more than 4 topics per week can be opened in each of them, people cap per topic is 4; NPCs can be trained up to level 20 (5,000 ryo per level per NPC, level up twice per week); total level cap for all NPCs is 200. 6 specialized ninja type NPCs are available.
Level 5: S rank taijutsus are available; +10 EXP from training topics; there are 5 training grounds where no more than 5 topics per week can be opened in each of them, people cap per topic is 5; NPCs can be trained up to level 25 (1,000 ryo per level per NPC, level up 3 times per week); total level cap for all NPCs is 400. Basic customization of NPCs is available.

| Welfare and Management Branch Just like the Military branch, this branch is divided in 2 sections. With each upgrade in this area you get 1 level up which you can ether use to improve the Hospital (medical research and understanding) or the bureaucracy (improve economy, efficiency and diplomacy, decrease corruption). - Spoiler:
Level 1: 100,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 2: 200,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 3: 300,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 4: 400,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 5: 500,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 6: 600,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 7: 700,000 ryo; 1 level up Level 8: 800,000 ryo; 1 level up, up to 3 villages can have this upgrade Level 9: 900,000 ryo; 1 level up, up to 2 villages can have this upgrade Level 10: 1,000,000 ryo; 1 level up, only 1 village can have this upgrade.
Hospital Upgrading the Hospital will allow you to train more medic ninjas, improve your knowledge on medical jutsus and take better care of your citizens (thus show that you "care for the people" and make your village more popular). - Spoiler:
Level 1: D rank medical jutsus are available in the shinobi shop; You can train a max of 2 medic ninja; +1.000 ryo to weekly income for every level in Infrastructure.
Level 2: C rank medical jutsus are available in the shinobi shop; You can train a max of 4 medic ninja; medical enhancements gain a +10% success rate; +2.000 ryo to weekly income for every level in Infrastructure.
Level 3: B rank medical jutsus are available in the shinobi shop; You can train a max of 6 medic ninja; medical enhancements gain a +15% success rate; +3.000 ryo to weekly income for every level in Infrastructure.
Level 4: A rank medical jutsus are available in the shinobi shop; You can train a max of 9 medic ninja; medical enhancements gain a +20% success rate and your village loses 2 reputation points less; +5.000 ryo to weekly income for every level in Infrastructure and for every subjugated minor country.
Level 5: S rank medical jutsus are available in the shinobi shop; You can train a max of 12 medic ninja; medical enhancements gain a +25% success rate and your village loses 5 reputation points less; +7.000 ryo to weekly income for every level in Infrastructure and +10.000 for every for every subjugated minor country.
Administration Administration includes public and foreign relations, managing the economy, anti-corruption system etc... Translated, that means if you want to save money, soften the blow when you commit atrocities, have an easier time wining over other countries without fighting them, make it harder for rival villages of win over and even maintain other places under their control, then you should level up in this sector. The higher the level of Administration the more seriously minor countries will take your reputation into consideration during negotiations. Here is a list of other benefits you gain with each new level in administration: - Spoiler:
Level 1: Researching/upgrading village improvements costs 5% less; reputation loss for refusing Staff/Counter Mission is decreased by 1.
Level 2: Researching/upgrading village improvements costs 10% less; reputation loss for losing ninja and refusing or failing any kind of mission is decreased by 1.
Level 3: Researching/upgrading village improvements costs 15% less; all forms of reputation loss are decreased by 2.
Level 4: Researching/upgrading village improvements costs 20% less; all forms of reputation loss are decreased by 4, twice as much for espionage acts. +5% global security.
Level 5: Researching/upgrading village improvements costs 25% less; all forms of reputation loss are decreased by 6, twice as much for espionage acts and loss of ninja (provided you hold a funeral with a body, and that body is preserved). +10% global security.

| Homeland Security This branch is for protection from both obvious dangers, such as invasions, and those that lurk in the shadows and even in our hearts. It is divided in 2 sectors and with each upgrade you get to level up 1 sector. The 2 sectors are: 1) Internal security and espionage: ANBU (short for: Affirmation of Nonincriminating Behavioral Utilization). And 2) External security: PLGBTFNBIEH (short for: Protection from Large Groups of Bad Tempered Foreign Ninja Bent on Inflicting Extreme Hurtyness)...the name still needs a little work. The higher the level in the Homeland Security branch the more you'll undermine your enemy's authority when they negotiate with minor countries closer to you. Also, minor countries from farther away will take your reputation and military might more seriously.
ANBU Leveling up the ANBU sector will allow you to better, faster and more efficiently train greater numbers of ANBU ninja. That means you'll have an easier time spying on others while making it a lot harder for others to spy on you. It also helps you keep the rest of the ninja in line. Even if all the ninja are loyal to you and you have such a good defense system that infiltration is nearly impossible, the ANBU are the elite. You are bound to have other uses for them. - Spoiler:
Level 1: D rank stealth jutsus are available in the ANBU HQ. You can train a max of 2 ANBU ninja. ANBU NPCs in training can level up once every 11 days for 20.000 ryo per level per NPC.
Level 2: C rank stealth jutsus are available in the ANBU HQ. You can train a max of 4 ANBU ninja. ANBU NPCs in training can level up once a week for 18.000 ryo per level per NPC.
Level 3: B rank stealth jutsus are available in the ANBU HQ. You can train a max of 6 ANBU ninja. NPC ANBU can level up 5 levels higher than the maximum available level for NPCs and they can be fully customized. ANBU NPCs in training can level up twice a week for 16.000 ryo per level per NPC.
Level 4: A rank stealth jutsus are available in the ANBU HQ. You can train a max of 9 ANBU ninja. NPC ANBU can level up to level 30. ANBU NPCs in training can level up 3 times per week for 14.000 ryo per level per NPC.
Level 5: S rank stealth jutsus are available in the ANBU HQ. You can train a max of 12 ANBU ninja. ANBU NPCs in training can level up 5 times a week for 10.000 ryo per level per NPC. Increase the total level cap of all NPCs by 50.
Large Scale Defenses The best way to protect your secrets and your people from spies or invading armies is not to fix the problem after it happens, but to prevent the threat from reaching them in the first place. The main 3 things that consist Large Scale Defenses is: Village Defenses, Boarder Patrol and Logistics. Improving this sector will allow you to better detect when someone enters your country or village, make it harder for invading armies to destroy or even get inside your village and will make it easier (and faster) for your ninjas to move around quickly and safely inside your territory. Here is a list of what you gain with each new level in Large Scale Defenses (See the "Other Improvements" topic for additional improvements on the Village defenses): - Spoiler:
Level 1: Village defense level 1. Travel time in friendly territory is reduced by 1 hour. You can station a maximum of 1 sentry on the boarder; if NPC then he's a poor one with a 24 hour delay before he reports in and an 80% chance of being found if someone tries to seek him out.
Level 2: Village defense level 2. Travel time in friendly territory is reduced by 2 hours. Maximum of 2 sentries; if NPC then he's average at best with a 12 hour delay before he reports in and a 60% chance of being found if someone tries to seek him out.
Level 3: Village defense level 3. Travel time in friendly territory is reduced by 3 hours, by 1 in neighboring countries. Maximum of 3 sentries; if NPC then they're pretty good with a 6 hour delay before he reports in and a 40% chance of being found if someone tries to seek him out.
Level 4: Village defense level 4. Travel time in friendly territory is reduced by 4 hours, 2 in all other countries. Cooldown of "after battle" options on own territory is reduced by 2 hours each. Maximum of 4 sentries; if NPC then they're extremely good with a 3 hour delay before he reports in and a 20% chance of being found if someone tries to seek him out.
Level 5: Village defense level 5. Travel time in own territory is reduced by 5 hours, 3 in all other countries, enemy's traveling time in own territory is increased by 1 hour. Cooldown of "after battle" options on own territory is reduced by 4 hours each, by 2 if in enemy territory. Maximum of 5 sentries; if NPC then they're specially groomed for this job, almost nothing gets by them undetected and they're in constant contact with HQ so they know immediately if something happens to them. Not that something would since they are so well hidden there is almost no chance of them being found if someone tries to seek him out.

Price: 100.000 ryo Large Scale Defenses (you can have 1 type of improvement per level in Village defense and upgrade it as much): - Spoiler:
Name: Village Gates and Walls Description: The council invests in building a defensive perimeter around the village (usually a wall) to repel invasions and deter infiltration. By choice or necessity, there is always a weak link in the perimeter (usually the village gates). Effect: With each village defense level the walls become higher, tougher, harder to scale, provide more protection for those manning them and have more and better defensive machines (such as the kunai launchers in the 1st naruto movie) installed at key points. At levels 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 in infrastructure you must add 1 more gate. Price: 100.000 ryo

Price: 100.000 ryo
Name: Brilliant Architecture Description: Applying the principal of "Defence in depth", this entire village was constructed to be a battle ground. Narrow maze-like streets which all seem to finish with dead-ends, buildings of ever escalating height with parapets, scarps, trenches, defiles, ect...Makes invaders wish they never breached the gates in the first place. Effect: Pick 1 at level 2, 4 and 5 in village defense:
- Defile - Cannot proceed to further areas until all opposition in current area are killed/defeated or they withdraw. Only 1 combat topic per area per available route to other areas. A max of 2 teams (1 from each side), can engage in a combat topic.
- Cavalier - The section of the village closest to the walls is built higher than the wall itself allowing suppression fire to be used against invaders from inside the village itself.
- Empty entrance - Further reinforce the walls but replace the village gate with an inviting narrow passage (a.k.a. the kill zone) that turns sharply several times (if you want it to). A max of 2 teams (1 from each side), can engage in a combat topic in the "new village gate". The passage is filled with Booby traps whose location is only know to high ranking ninja from the village itself. Suppressive fire from walls possible if you have Advanced Fort style.
- Secret Passages - Defenders can leave (auto escape) 1 combat topic/area and enter another. Due to the maze-like nature of the passages, even if an invader finds one he cannot use a secret passage without a guide or already obtained full knowledge of the tunnel system.
- Two faced - Civilian buildings were constructed with security systems, which the people arm before heading to the shelters. The village is filled with Booby traps whose location is only know to any ranking ninja from the village itself.
[Only admins are allowed to see this image] Price: 100.000 ryo
Name: Tower of Mystics Description: A building from where master chakra manipulators use powerful sealing jutsus to aid in the defence of the village. Effect: Pick 1 at level 2, 4 and 5 in village defense:- Kanchi Shisutemu Jutsu (Sensing System Technique) - A very thin and sensitive layer of chakra encompasses the entire village and anything passing through it causes a ripple. The greater the size and chakra of the object the bigger the ripple. This makes sneaking in almost impossible.
- Chakra enhanced structures - The structures in the village are more durable, especially against non or semi-physical attacks (such as elemental jutsu).
- Kinship resonance - A chakra network runs throughout the entire village which is in tune with ninja born here. 1) If you have Chakra dome then: When inside the village, chakra based jutsus from non-native ninja have the opposed effect, making it more likely they'll get detected rather than less likely. 2) If you have Chakra enhanced structures then: Own non and semi-physical jutsus won't damage your village at all. 3) If you have Super Dampening Field then: Friendly ninja can use high jutsus inside the field but with great difficulty, but summoning creatures is still impossible.
- Counter Chakra Flow (Requires Kinship Resonance) - Interferes with the natural chakra flow on non-native ninja, making it harder for them to mold chakra. High jutsus are affected the most, costing 1 extra BP in addition to everything else. Some can't even be used at all.
- Super Dampening Field - Originally designed as a Bijuu containment trap, an area in the village has become the focus of extremely powerful sealing jutsus (the medium for the field can be in the same area or, if you have Advanced Fort style, in another part of the village). Any summoned creature/ninja/item/ect... (friend or foe) is immediately banished to the point of origin if they enter the field. High jutsus cannot be used inside this field nor used to enter or exit it, Bijuu are pacified, Jinchuuriki revert to human form and cannot access the Bijuu's chakra nor do they gain any passive benefits from being a host, the same applies to any ninja/creature who has an external source/link of some kind. Only 1 field per area may be installed. The maximum number of fields you can install in the village is equivalent to the level of village defence. Installing a field costs an extra 100.000 ryo each.
Price: 100.000 ryo
Name: The Sentinels Description: Your village has hired/constructed, summon creatures/animated constructs, who remain vigilant at all times and without hesitation jump to the defense of the village when it is attacked. Effect: The Summons/constructs are treated as NPCs and are controlled by the kage (or by a specifically designated member of the council). Lvl=village defence level: lvl 1: You can have 1 D rank summon/construct. lvl 2: You can have 1 C rank summon/construct, or 2 D rank. lvl 3: You can have 1 B rank summon/construct, or 2 C rank, or 4 D rank. lvl 4: You can have 1 A rank summon/construct, or 2 B rank, or 4 C rank, or 8 D rank. lvl 5: You can have 1 S rank summon/construct, or 2 A rank, or 4 B rank, or 8 C rank or 16 D rank. Price: 100.000 ryo NOTE: Combination is possible. Ex: At lvl 5, instead of 2 A rank summons, you can trade 1 A rank for 2 B ranks, or 1 B rank and 4 D ranks.
Name: Natural Defenses Description: No amount of human ingenuity and engineering can substitute the perilous, inhospitable, untraversable obstacles nature can throw at you. Effect: Pick 1 at level 1, 2 and 4 in village defense:
- Treacherous land - Increase travel time of non-native ninja inside your country by 1 hour per level in village defense.
- Natural defenses - The village itself is carved into the heart of the land, using it as a natural barrier against invaders. Reduce the number of village gates and wall wards by 1 per level in village defense to a minimum of 1.
- Castle on a hill - Ninja's in farther (higher) unengaged sections and areas can provide suppressive fire to combat topics on lower ground. Suppressive fire on "gate battles" also possible if gates are opened or destroyed or if its a "Empty entrance".
- Shifty scenery - Non-native ninja can only "escape" to places and topics they've previously been to.
- Mythical land - This country is home to many extremely dangerous, but mostly passive +SS rank creatures who almost rival the Bijuu when they're free from a host. The denizens of this country have learned to accept them as simply an extension of the land itself and as such know how to avoid their detection and elude their wrath. Invaders are not as fortunate. Non-native ninja must travel in small groups (1 team per topic) and well apart, lest they draw the attention of the beasts and most likely be killed.
Price: free
Name: Advanced Fort style Description: Just having walls and gates isn't enough. When the enemy comes pushing you gatta push back. Effect: Pick 1 at level 1, 3 and 5 in village defense:
- Aggressive defence - Double the amount of weaponry installed on the walls and throughout the village. If you have "Two faced" in Brilliant Architecture you can install Fort weaponry instead of Booby traps inside the village.
- Superior Anti-air defense - Special anti-air Fort weaponry is placed at strategic points on the wall and throughout the village. Anyone trying to fly over the walls, or indeed simply rise above the buildings even when inside the village, becomes a valid target (and will likely be skewered).
- Tenaille - an advanced defensive-work that looks like the lip of a pair of pincers, placed in front of the main defences of the village, providing enormous tactical advantage.
- Star Fort - Suppression fire from any unengaged section into any engaged section is possible.
- Trench walls - Make the shape of the wall like giant steps with parapets. A higher step provides cover from those below it, but suppression fire from a higher steps is possible on lower steps. This makes the wall impossible to be taken by storm because if there are ninjas placed on each trench the invaders have to fight their way up every inch of the way while under constant fire.
